All Creatures Great and Small
Pastor’s Note, The Door Newsletter, November 2024
As I write this note, our 2025 Pledge Campaign is ready to launch. Our campaign theme, “All Creatures Great and Small” is informed by the psalmist’s praise to God: All creatures look to you to give them their food at the proper time. When you give it to them, they gather it up; when you open your hand, they are satisfied with good things. – Psalm 104:27-28 NIV. God’s grace experienced in the variety and abundance of Creation is a joyous and wonderful thing! Those of us who have received grace are called to share that grace with others.
As is customary, members and friends will be receiving a packet of information by mail. Each year, we are blessed by the ministry of a pledge campaign callers, whose contact is meant to confirm receipt of your packet, make note of your comments and questions to relay to the stewardship committee, and encourage you to deliver your pledge of support.
Pledges may be returned electronically by sending that information via e-mail note to office@fpcedw.org or by navigating to the home page of our website https://fpcedw.org where you will find a link to a survey that allows you to make a pledge via electronic form. If you prefer pledging on paper, you may return a completed pledge card to the church office. Pledge Commitment Sunday is November 24.
As we join together in support, I invite you to pray our campaign prayer: Gracious God, bless our giving, that we may be a blessing to all of your children; all of our neighbors, near and far; all of your creatures, great and small. It’s in Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
